chew *** out，意思是特别严厉、生气地责备某人，训斥某人。
比如：
The boss is totally going to chew us out if he hears that we lost that big client.如果老板知道我们损失了个大客户，他绝对会训斥我们。
The teacher chewed us out for being late.老师因为我们迟到责备我们。
Mom chewed me out for *** a mess in the room. 妈妈因为我把房间弄乱了而训斥我。
